In an unsober state , yes, he actually bit the head off a dove in the offices of CBS Records after the release of Blizzard of Ozz...the bat happened after a fan through a bat on stage which he thought was dead, but was actually alive...Remeber Ozzy was on all types of drugs back then and lots of alcohol...this is still not as bad as the GROSS OUT contest held by Ted Nugent and Frank Zappa live in concert...Nugent took a dump on the stage and Zappa picked it up and took a huge bite...guess who won...yep Nugent puked on stage right after...cheers

Hi phantom29, That was a "longtime" ago, however...if my memory serves me right, LOL! I believe that to be "somewhat" true. I think the bat may have been already dead (and the added effects IE; blood etc...) made it look very real/gruesome. I'm sure you'll get a very "definate" answer from someone closer to the source! XOXO Moonpie P.S. Chris W. wasn't that Alice Cooper and Frank Zappa?

yes, on stage. And a white dove in a business meeting. That stu8ff about Frank Zappa and Ted Nugent/ Alice Cooper was fiction...just a rumor back in the 70's.

Not on purpose. Ozzy`s fans were very interactive with him. They would throw things on stage. One fan threw a dead bat and Ozzy bit it not knowing it was real.
