I'm headed down to Argentina in December and I want to make sure I can dance. Is there a good latin dance studio that anyone can recommend?

Also, are classes mostly couples, or single people? I can imagine it would feel really odd if everyone else in the class were all couples.

I'm not really looking to learn tango since most people don't dance it in Argentina....I'd say salsa and samba are what I'm really interested in learning.

NYC is one of the best places in the world for latin dance classes. Some world-famous professional relocated to NYC just for that reason.

Go to www.ballroomdancers.com and find a studio near you.
"Ballroom on 5th" is the only one I know in NYC, and it is pretty good judging from the fact that their instructors get invited to the West Coast on the regular basis.

Usually, beginner level classes are mostly singles and a few couples. More advances classes are partnered up, but there are some people who don't have partners.

I would recommend going to latin clubs as much as you can before you head to Argentina. But then again, Argentina is known for dancing tango. Right???
Going to the clubs , and actually seeing people dancing and practicing yourself is the way to go. (That's just my opinion)
If it's Salsa, Merengue, Bachata you want to learn then try the Copacabana on 34th and 8th avenue (but then again that is caribbean music) I don't know of any tango or Argentina dancing lessons...
