Why should we thing we are rational people, if we use our very reason to justify our mistakes? That is not pure madness?

The vices and virtues of our species work together to form the reality as we know it. Without one or the other we would simply fall apart as a species. So justifying our mistakes is okay because in the future the mistake could simply be the first step at humankind's greatest triumph. The truth is, we live in a gray world in which violence and peace are one in the same, and end up accomplishing progress.

That is immaturity.
That is a mind learning to reason with logic.
That is a mind unexperienced in, or unwilling to experience, consequences.
That is self-preservation, and the best of us will do it. We have not only a rational prefrontal brain, but an older, deep-rooted mid-brain which is much more motivated to escape punishment than thought can often conquer.
This is why we need social checks and balances.

reason is manipulated when an irrational person is trying to be percieved as rational. words and actions are the by products of our reason. True reason is never understood out side of the mind.

No, I use reason to justify crime.
That's fine by me. Call it what you will.
I'll just make a law that pre-empts your whining.

We also use are reason to bring crimes to justice.
