What's the weather in the Dominican Republic REALLY like right now?

I looked on weather.com and it says scattered showers every day. We're taking a trip there and I'm trying to see if it's really going to rain the whole time, or if that's just afternoon, etc.

i was there last year in early november.
yes, it rained a lot but not the whole time
plenty of time for beach, etc.
