There are no elements in the null set, so the cardinality (number of elements) is zero.

In contrast, a set like {A, B, C, D} has cardinality of 4.

Basically all you need to know is that cardinality is the *number of elements* in the set. The null set has no elements, thus a cardinality of 0.
