When I am weaker than you, I ask for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.

Thoughts on this statement?

When you are weaker than me, I stand for the both of us and assist you toward endurance. When I am weaker than you, I ask you to shore me up to share your burden with dignity.

There. I like that better. Your thought suggests that power is in every many for himself. Mine suggests that greatness is in every man for every man.

You wouldn't be "Monty", would you?

"Credo of the Left:
When I am weaker than you, I ask you for my rights, for that is your way.
When I am stronger than you, I take away your rights, for that is my way.

This is from a right-wing blog:

"Angry in the Great White North
Taking sloppy liberal thinking and tearing it a new one -- but always with a touch of class."

(Having visited the site, I have to say that the "touch of class" was, in my opinion, conspicuous only by its absence.)

A Mr. Steve Janke, a "Canadian conservative."

"God I hate the left going out of its way to whine and moan and appear powerless and wimpy."

Well, I think it's mostly wrong. Yes, I suppose there are some people who, when weak, ask for freedom, and when they become strong, take it away from others.
But to generalize from that is inane.
There have been plenty of examples in history of those who were once weak and who asked for freedom, NOT becoming tyrants when they gained power.
My personal opinion is that anyone who thinks this way is simply imposing his/her own inclinations upon humanity in general. It's called projection.

I think it’s a very good summary of the average mindset in the individualistic, selfish and self righteous society created by the Thatcher era.

It equates with the people who believe it is there right to drive their car as fast as they can (“it’s all about freedom!”), but wants everyone to be quiet or get out of their neighbourhood (“What’s wrong with society?!”) People don’t want to comprise their own freedoms for a society that they demand curtails its own behaviour.

As the 'weaker' I would strive to be more.
As the 'stronger' I would ignore the weak.

but this knowledge of weak or strong would only cone through comparison with another, and finding your place. comparison is subjective and flawed based on the individuals values.

the aim should be perfecting the self, outside of the need to dominate.

As the stronger, i would not help the weak to be like me, for then they did not get there through their own merits, and as th eweaker, i would not put my hand out to the strong for help, for why shold they... oh yeah, politically correct idealology and christian dogma.

True strength lies in having strength and not using it against those who are weaker than you. Freedom isn't given or taken, It is letting your heart fly even when your hands are tied. If you can do that , you will have gained both freedom and strength

That's why it's a bad thing to have all three branches of the federal government controlled by one party, especially the more corrupt and power-hungry party of the two. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, giving them the courage to act like Big Brother and deprive us of our freedom.

The strong protect the weak.
There is good and evil remember we are not lumped into one catagory. If i do construction work and you do bank work i am physically stronger than you you are mentally stronger than the me. Yet we need each other to reach our goals.
People make mistakes and follow opinions that could be wrong, yet that is why we are still here, to learn.

Really? There is no "strongest" and "weakest" signs. I know an Aries that whines about everything, and a Pisces that is a real loudmouth and does almost every sport! It depends on the damn person!

My principle is, no matter how weak I am, I will fight for freedom.
There's no principle if things just are the way they are!
