The Democrats may win control, or they may not. Either way they have overplayed their hand. By proclaiming themselves the winners they have energized many in the republican base who might not have voted in protest. Since the Democrats have made such a show of their perceived victory it has forced republicans to question whether punishing their elected officials is worth having the opposition in power. In almost every race where Democrats were sure they were going to win the races have become tight. Almost every major political analyst is now calling it a dead heat. Even Howard Dean is urging Democrats to back off of this premature gloating. That alone speaks volumes in my mind. Whatever happens will happen, but I really do not believe this election will be the rout they have proclaimed. As to what will happen if they lose again. That's a total no brainer. Get ready for court challenges of ballots all over the country and 2 more years of desperate cries about how another election was stolen from them.

The question should be is the questioner counting his or her chickens before they've hatched, and "if so, what will be their number one excuse on November 8th?

And who will be number one in the hit parade once they gin up their favorite parlor entertainment - The Blame Game?"

Well, not only that, but they also speak too soon. Nancy Pelosi ruined her chances I believe when she said about when she is first in office she will raise taxes. I hate to see any party in, but lesser of two evils. I can't wait until I see their excuse of losing now.

"The Republicans lied to their voters."
"We didn't have a fair chance."
"Despite all the controversies we conjured up a month before election time, we still were disrespected and lost due to Republican lies."

Just a few I could think of on spur of moment, I am sure their's will be much more elaborate and "correct."

They are already planning on that...
Haven't you seen all the hype about the voting machines... How they can be altered...How they don't read the votes correctly...
We all know exactly what they are going to be doing come Nov 8th. Crying fowl. They cant get it through there heads that the majority of the country do NOT agree with them.

Remember Dems... "Vote early, vote often" <<

Their excuse will be that the Republicans have cheated. In the districts where they use electronic machines it will be because the machine were manipulated by republicans. In the districts where there aren't any electronic voting machines it will be because the votes could not be controlled without those machines.

It would surprize me with the dems coudlnt' win over the repubs this election year. The repubs steeped in scandal of iraq war, mark foley, and all every word that Bush utters have made it easy for the dems. Dems are losers, but they can win this one.

It's not like we're talking about a few seats...we're talking about like 30 seats.
