It was an experiment done in 1999 in a lab in Glasgow, Scotland by Dr. Gotnutin Betertudu that proved that worms can actually yawn. It was observed that 40 out of 45 worms began yawning after only 10 seconds of hearing a Kathy Lee Gifford recording. Subsequent tests revealed that of the 5 remaining worms that did not yawn, all 5 had lock-jaw and were physically unable to do so.

Presumably, you could get them to by genetically adding the yawning gene from a yawning animal such as a cat.
Once done, you may want to consider getting their yawning syncrhonized. Then you would have a yawning worm chorus which you could show on TV or youTube. Wouldn't that be fantastic?

I don't think so. When I'm fishing I'll say to the worm open wide.

Can't believe I actually clicked this question. I wonder if I could get some grant money from the gov to research it.
