No, they should not have been sent home. What you didn't mention was the fact that there were boys there as well, in the exact same costume, that did not get sent home. In fact, some of the boys did not even cover themselves up as much as the girls! EQUAL TREATMENT

I feel it is wrong of the principal to have sent the girls home. They were trying to express themselves with the freedom our country has provided for everyone, not just adults, and no one thought they were naked. Something has gone very wrong in ourschools. I would try going to a city counsil meeting, and the board of education with a well written statement about what occured, and talk with other parents about their feelings on the subject, and try and get a willing number of parents to protest against the illegal actions of the school. It might be hard, but worth the effort to save freedom of speech for children who cannot fight injustice themselves. Good Luck, Hun, and a VERY good question.

I don't think there was anything wrong with it. IT would be a different story if they were naked or they drew nipples on themselves or something. I can remeber girls getting in trouble for wearing bikinis to school on beach day. I think thats worse because they wern't covering very much. If there fully covered in nude leotard whats the difference if it was blue?

I also saw that this morning, I thought it was ridiculous. They were covered more than most girls wear to school on a daily basis. Other than the outfits being unusual, they should have not been kicked out of school.

I think that is crap! I love captain underpants and their outfits where cool! I would let my daughter where it for hero day! You can tell they are completely covered! He probably didn't like it because of the principal in the captain underpants book!

Now, obviously, what we have here is a school principal who has problems containing his personal urges, and must cast out all temptations for fear of not being able to keep his hands to himself.
He should "enter rehab", the way they do at the US Congress.

No, they were just having fun, and being a little creative. I bet he wouldn't have sent home Wonder Woman, and her outfit leaves nothing to the imagination.

People are idiots....no one can do anything anymore without somebody whining about how they are offended by it....people need to quit their whining and worry about more important things....those girls weren't doing anything wrong...maybe the principal should try focusing as much of his attention on education as he does on whether or not he likes the way his students look.

I guess one question I would have would be... Were the girl's outfits causing a disturbance in the school? There are certainly rules against that.
