I've learned how to contol my addiction. I've made an expense report outlining where my money needs to go each month. I don't carry cash and always make a list of what I NEED and stick to the list. I don't go to malls unless I know what I'm buying.
My problem is, I can't get over the feeling of NEEDING to spend money, mainly on clothes and cosmetics. The best way to describe this "feeling" is - whenever I buy expensive makeup or clothes, I feel important. It gives me a sense of belonging because I am able to afford spending $200 on makeup in one day.
When I look through fashion magazines, I have to make myself put it down because just looking at things I want to buy drives me crazy. Is this normal? Do I need to seek professional help? Maybe my problem goes deeper than shopping?
Help! It's taking all my will power to keep myself from going sephora's website RIGHT NOW!

Thanks for your answers. The funny thing is, I look at some people with designer handbags for instance, and think to myself "Can't you put your money to better use instead of spending $1,000 on a purse?" But I'm the same way! :( It's just a feeling that is SO hard to control. Shopping gives me a high and a feeling of total happiness. Sounds so pathetic, I know.
I DO like the yoga suggestion!
