I have been on YASMIN for a while i think for two years and it is the best thing they every came out with.

It can go either way... Just make sure you do a steady diet and excerise. I have PCOS and i've had it for years. But you will notice when your close to the sugar pills to your cycle you will bloat. I know this happens to me but everyone chemistry and there body is different

I know your asking about weight gain but there are some other things you should know.

Sometimes the first three months I bleed very heavy and had some blood clots. I called the dr and she said that it normal because your body is cleaning itself out of the dead cells from your ovaries and it needs to get out. Then if finally leveled off.

You might want to get some heating pads and the pads for menstration cycle i can't remember what brand work really well

My doctor said it all depends on the person. My body type tends to gain weight. Most people on any birth control do gain weight. I was on Yamin for about 3 months for PCOS. It helped with many of the symptoms but I gained around five pounds every month around my period. It helped with cramps, acne, and the strange body hair. My husband and I decided to try and have kids and I stopped taking the Yasmin. My doctor recently put me on Metformin; a blood sugar medicine. I look forward to taking Yasmin again because it was the best birth control I ever took for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. If weight gain does occur, just be dedicated to a healthy diet and excersize and you will be amazed at how much better you feel.
