Sign up on the Web with the companies that you plan to use baby products from, like Pampers, Enfamil, Huggies, Gerber, Nestle, etc. They all send you product samples and coupons, which are great.

Buy diapers by the case. Don't buy a case of newborn diapers because they aren't in them for that long.

You don't have to buy Mylicon gas drops. Little Tummies work just as well and don't cost as much. I do however, buy Tylenol brand Infant drops.

Wipes, buy them by the case.

You can buy clothes and baby equipment at garage sales and by asking friends for hand-me-downs.

The only thing that I recommend buying new is a highchair and a car seat. Those are critical because they are constantly having new safety features added to them.

Coupons! Saving 50 cents on certain items can really add up. There are tons of coupons you can print off the internet and those can add up if you use them during weekly shopping.

Only buy what you can afford. If you have any doubts of "Do I really need this? Maybe I should wait awhile until I have a little more money before I buy it.." then just know that it's not a good idea to purchase it.

First of all cut back on the stuff you spend money on unnecessarily. Next try and throw a baby shower so you can get as much free stuff for the baby as you can. If you know someone with old baby stuff in good condition ask can you have them, that right there will save a lot. Because when babies are newborns they grow very fast, which means they will grow out of clothes fast. For shopping try coupons and generic products.

clip clip clip....coupons!! best way to save money!

Are you going to nurse? that will save a ton of money on formula..but if you bottle feed...I used generic formula..I took a can of generic along with a well known pricey brand to my pediatrician...I had him compare the 2 ... he said they were equal and advised me to go with the generic! It was a lifesaver.

Consignment shops..like..Once Upon A Child are a great resource for buying AND selling baby clothes!! You can get beautiful clothes there that have probably only been worn a few times for a fraction of the price. They carry all baby/ kids products.

Cancel out any bad habits (Smoking), you saved already here. If you don`t smoke, the best thing to do is, put a little money IE: 50p - £5.00 away into your account a week, and keep saving that way.
Or, get yourself together a money jar, and put all your coppers (change) into it, and don`t count it til its nearly full up.

When I did, there was nearly £400 in there (I used an Italian Glass Wine storage Bottle for my money bank, it was about £4.50 to buy it.)

Also as you`ve got internet, make the most out of registering with boots and pampers for free vouchers and info.

Hope this helps.

I started to buy diaper, bottles, blankets and all types of baby items as soon as I found out i was pregnant. By the time the baby was born I had plenty of baby items for about 2 years. I also shop in clearance.

well sweetie, i recommend that u start saving by taking out at least 10% of ur weekly paycheck and 20% of ur bi-weekly paycheck (if u get paid every two weeks) open a savings account at a local bank and try to bargain shop when u do shop. if a nice shirt cost's $50 and one that's just as nice cost $30 which one would u choose?- you must apply that rule to everything and u will see that u budget will work for u. trust me- start off by doing this technique.

Sign up with all the baby company's. They will usually send you coupons in the mail. I have started to use lots of coupons. You can also buy store brand diapers for during the daytime and use the name brand daipers at night. Buy your baby clothes used. Baby's grow so fast.

ask for diapers at your baby shower (if your going to have one). when my mom had my little sister she didn't have to buy diapers for a year. think of all that money saved? and cupons and help save up too. with gas prices high don't travel more then you need to. only travel when you really need too.

oh, and congrats! i sure your baby will be the most beautiful!
luck!

take a little bit out of each check and put it in a savings account. also if you ever have any spare change put it in a jar and when its full roll all the coins. you wouldn't believe how that can add up. we put all our spare change in my daughter's piggy bank and when it was full there was $80.
