1975 sounds about right, but many cars changed to unleaded in 1971, forcing auto makers to drop compression ratios to cope with the unleaded gas.

my dad had a '73 chev that they reccomended unleaded for it , this was a Canadian car 'though, yeah i think cat's were mandatory in '75
