If the top 1 percent is paying so much, that means the bottom say 50 percent isnt paying much at all. This means there are more people getting than giving. So its better to just cheat the few rich people to make the masses of not rich people happy and get more votes.

Your chart should show the amount of money that Bush and the republicans HANDED an average rich person versus an average middle class family. It's the difference between a muffler and a Lexus.
When you make a change in the tax code there are winners and losers, it's easy, no matter what things looked like beforehand. The republicans dealth the rich a WINDFALL, and they dealt the middle class a "free shakeys pizza".
Also the charts you show don't say anything about the investor-class tax cuts favoring the rich or the attempt to cut the Paris Hilton tax on rich heirs and heiresses, which they could not pass.
Make no mistake, there is a class war going on, and the rich are winning and the middle-class are LOSING.
Ha ha to the other answerer who said that if you restore the rich to clinton-era tax policy, the only resort they have is to lay off or down size their companies. Yeah, maybe they'll be some layoffs IN CHINA and saudi arabia if the bush and cheney families don't get thier massive tax cuts.

Last time I checked we had a republican controlled Washington from president down to house of representatives. So how could liberals be running the country? As for the rich there tax bill is no where near as big as it should be. They get massive tax write offs that usually don't show up in tax comparisons. Then there are the lack of taxes on corporations when the accounting is finally done most corporations pay nothing. This is not to say the corporations don't send in money far from it they just get all back after all the paper work is done. Tax breaks are nice and good but the country needs to raise taxes to pay off our ever sky rocketing debts.

Oh boy, whats wrong with you? Dems haven't had any power in Washington for six years, and for six years before that the Reps were the majority in the Congress. You got a problem with taxes, and spending? Look no farther than unfunded wars with the bill coming due in the next session of Congress, sure the taxes are going up, Reps wanted war, they got it .....but the bill is coming due and who is going to pay it? So the Dems will get stuck with the taxes going up at the next election, but its the Rep who had the fun with the credit card. Just how gullible can we get? Apparently we have an endless supply of aw shucks trust.

Hey , don't you know that Democrats have been out of office since 2000 and in minority in Congress for 12 years . Now you tell me how , you can blame them for what you do .
Check it out .
Republicans have been spending and spending for the last 6 years like there is no bottom in the barrow .
You got it almost right , except you should have said that the New Republicans are not the party of fiscal responsibility either .
I don't believe that the Demo crates can out spend the Republicans now .
Didn't we have a surplus when Bush took office ????????

Spend? Are you totally ignorant of the level of government spending under Bush? And, can you clear your head of propaganda long enough to remember the $40,000,000,000 medicare package that only benefited one segment of society? That's called "re-distribution of wealth." That's one step north of communism, m'boy!
Who do you think is going to pay the neo-con bills? How do you think they're going to pay them? Think "deficit" is a brand name of a magical machine where you throw in the bills and they vanish?
Yes, the Democrats have a history of "tax-and-spend." However, the new Republican strategy is "spend-and-spend," then pay it off with a bad check to account of the American people. That's better?
Neither party has any concept of fiscal responsibility. But, the Republicans have raised that irresponsibility to an art form.

Please stay away from these websites that have no credibility, and are specious, at best. They give false, and phoney info. Here's the bottom line. This administration has every intention of destroying the middle class, and has succeeded very well. This administration has intentionally created the greatest deficit, ( look it up, a--hole), that the entire world has ever known, or will ever know, all to the benefit of his cronies. This administration has stabbed taxpayers, and veterans in the back intentionally. Bush has intentionally created a situation where Islamic Jihadists are greatly motivated to commit acts of terror. Their terrorism is all Bush's fault. They only do it because of him! What a dog sh-t loser Bush is, and anyone else who voted for him.

If you follow the communist movement in America from the very beginning, you'll find that one of their first goals was a progressive tax. And they got it! And every change in the tax code makes it worse.
They have to know that only a buyer pays taxes--everyone else passes it on--but they can always portray it as fair as long as the media plays along.

You would think the Liberals would "get it" one day. They cannot grasp the concept that if they continue to raise the tax burden on the rich , the only resort they have is to lay off or down size their companies. Which,in case a liberal or Democrat doesn't understand, means more unemployment , higher prices on goods and services, which leads to higher crime levels and more welfare recipients...... Not too smart .....

Liberals are running this country? No one has ever said Congress, the Senate, or w and friends are liberals. So you must be talking about some other country besides the USA.
