No it is not normal. Running once a week will not really increase your running ability. Try every other day instead or at least every third day.
You pushed yourself a little too hard. Run before you eat such as in the morning when you first get up before breakfast. Drink plenty of water about an hour before you run.

I think it may be a symptom of either over-exertion during exercise, or from too abruptly ending an exercise session. Another reason maybe that of not taking enough water, there is too much heat, or equilibrium changes.
It has also been suggested by quacks that this could could be caused by increased endorphin levels which are realised while exercising. Nonetheless, if it is worrisome, please make an appointment with your doctor for a thorough check-up.

Avoid eating up to 2 hours before running. Also, depends on how far and at what pace you were running, your age, weight and whether you have ever run before.

It's normal if you eat too much food before running, or the wrong kind of food.

It happens to my husband if he hasn't eaten or when he gets dehydrated. He now eats a Power Bar and takes a bottle of Powerade with him.

.sounds like you are overdoing it. maybe ,you need to pace yourself and not run as far or as hard, and, most important, stay hydrated. lots of water all the time. If, it still continues to make you sick, time to talk to a doctor.
