How do u know if they are justing pretending for my space friends or if they are really using. My step son does not live with me. But when I go to his my space I see he talks about purple weed.

Look for changes in behavior, when he puts his clothes to wash, check the pockets, smell his clothes, the smell is always there, DON'T invade his privacy and go through his things in his room cuz then it'll be points against you. Talk to his mother, if his mother is reasonable, she'll listen and make her take certain steps. Ask her if she's noticed him acting differently, staying out late, what parties he goes to, etc.

Well my mom once thought my brother was using so she made him go to a doctor. she told him he needed to go get his tetnus shot that she had received a notice from our doctor that his had expired. When he got there the doctor asked for a urine sample and did a iron count as part of the "checkup" and really used the urine for a drug test at my mothers request. That was in like 1996. I'm not sure if HIPPA laws allow for something like this but you can try.
Or let your spouse ask him to take a home drug test. Tell the child the truth about you seeing his my space page and tell him you do not want him messing up his life. If he won't take it the answer is clearly yes, he's using.

Your best bet is to ask him. If he's not coming home high, then you're not going to catch him. People list all these indicators of pot and treat it like it's crack. I'm not saying you should let your son get high, but I smoke weed and have been for a long time. I never started hanging out with losers or skipping school or had any drastic changes in my attitude or appearance. If you're concerned, ask him. It's all you can do.

My father, who is a deputy for Harford County, says that weed has a very distinct smell. I've never smelled it, but he says it's recognizable and hard to specifically describe. Smell your kid's clothes. It's a similar situation with cigarettes and alcohol. My parents don't smoke or drink, and when there's someone around who does smoke/drink, we can always smell the smoke/alcohol on them.

as for pot, purple weed? it a rare thing, and is usually a sign that the plant started to rot from damp conditions. perhaps he is trying to look cool by saying it. if he is referring to jimi hendricks and 'purple haze', well that is LSD anyway.
ask him one day if he wants to share a joint with you, if he says yes is is a stoner, if he says no, he is perhaps not one. try to call his bluff.

this is easy when he come home and he has been out with his friend if u smell his clothes you will smell it and he will have it in his room
if when he comes home he smells off it then it simple he he smells very strong off sum spary then is also clear if he smells normall then he ent hope i helped xxxxx
