Look a bit closer at the women you think of as having loads of male friends - what are they like and what are the men like, and what are the friendships like in style and content?
Most women I know with a lot of platonic men friends are kinda breezy and loud - they hug and cuddle their 'chums' and are a bit OTT with them, but never really keep still long enough for the guys to hit on them. One to one they can be quieter, but still they are fairly assertive and never give the conversation the chance to take a romantic turn.
I'd be surprised if they ever had to deflate a bloke's ego by telling him they just wanted to be friends (it is a pretty nasty rejection, to be told you're basically not good enough to even figure on a girl's romantic horizon), because basically they never let the suggestion they might be anything else rear it's ugly head.

stop dating ugly or unsuitable guys - then you wont want to be 'just friends'and giving these guys false hope dating them!"
On a personal note about blokes and rejection I was in a club and this drunken, ugly letch all but pinned me up agains the wall and insisted I must be a lesbian becuse I didnt want to go out with him or home with him - unitl that moment id never met the sleeze before - uurrrgg

Cos they can't handle the rejection. Maybe you give off vibes to men that doesn't suggest you want to be just friends.

Men want other males for friends, so they can have conversations about sport, breasts and things that don't involve putting their feelings into words. find a gay male friend.

It's all down to the maturity of the guy, don't take it personally you've been honest with them and that's all you owe them.
