Some virus scanners will run in safe mode allowing a better chance at removing virus infestations. You can also install a different virus scanner, but choose one without any resident scanning or disable all resident scanning in order to avoid conflicts with existing anti virus software. You might try bitdefender or some of the other antivirus tools listed at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/wektech

most viruses are smart now ,they hide thierselfs ,and will not let you run any antivirus program ,to get rid of them , they are called black box viruses , the only way to get rid of it now is to wipe your hardrive and start over , i've been through this before , because they have not figured out a fix for this problem yet , the virus is made to keep changing its location , to different files ,like exe, files to ini files ,to bat files and back at any time , because the hackers that create viruses a smarter than the techs that make the fix, because they learned how to make the virus so it automacticly makes a different varriation, of the file and security cannot keep up with them

online scan may help go to kaspersky.com

You may have to run it from safe mode. to get there, tap f8 when you first turn on your computer (juts tap it over and over). Select save mode with networking from the list. Select your administrator account (it will be called administrator, not anything else). Go to the website above and use the free online scaner.

I'm telling you to go into safe mode because in safe mode it is running only the basic programs and drivers required to run. The viruses and spyware that my be running in regular mode can't run here.

Best of luck!

Do a virus scan at a website:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Your viruses can't interfere with the website's scanner.
