I was cleaning my computer space, and upon coming the Program Files folder @ C drive, there's this program called "netmeeting" that I clearly never heard of and never downloaded. So there was a bunch of random files in that folder, and finally an install file for "Net Meeting". So it's not installed in my computer...yet. I tried to delete that folder, but i says I can't do it, because I couldn't, with an alert saying that someone or something is using it. I went into the folder and deleted everything, which strangely it "worked". Emptyed the rubbish bin, rechecked the "Net Meeting" folder and all the files I deleted magically reappeared.

On my bittorrent, the blue bar at the top says I'm downloading something.
But I hadn't issued any files to download.

I'm getting paranoid..,but my anti-virus/spy says I got nothing infected...

Leave Netmeeting alone. It is part of Window XP. The reason for the message about someone or something else using it is because this program uses files shared with other programs. In other words, there is another program running that is using a file that netmeeting also uses.

There are lots of folders and files you have no knowledge of working on your computer. You are foolish for trying to remove something because you are not familiar with what it does. You should type the name of it into Google and get Information about it. You can also go to Microsoft.com and type it into the search box and see what Microsoft says.

Windows XP is the last version of Microsoft Windows to include NetMeeting. The Support Lifecycle for NetMeeting will follow the lifecycle for the version of the Windows OS it shipped with. For example, if the customer is licensed and under the Windows XP support cycle, NetMeeting support will be available under the same XP support cycle.

NetMeeting users migrating to Windows Vista should refer the following table for guidance on alternative products and services. Note: some referenced features and products are scheduled to be release in the next 12 months; please refer to the footnotes below for availability information. For additional information please contact your Microsoft account representative, licensed reseller, or refer to the Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Unified Communications web pages.
