you say you can't find work so i assume you've been applying online to some jobs in the south. if you really, really need to go, then just move there and look for a job in person; you might have better luck that way.

Start a home based business where you are now. Build it up so that you can move where ever you want. Once your there you keep building and making more $.

save enough to move there and live 3-4 months then look for a job while there. take a lesser job until you find a better one.
