I was just looking at a web page of 80's music and it was talking about cold war songs..

I never realized untill now that "Wild Wild West" (Escape club song). was in fact a cold war song...

here's some examples..


siting in the back room waiting for the "big boom" (nuclear war)
Sherrif's on the air waves talking to the dj's (warnings)
Susie's in the backroom handing out valium (sounds like a precaution)

Oh and of course

ronnie's got a new gun (Ronald Reagen with his military buildup of the 80's)

They're not really hidden meanings. They are in fact the only meaning. But you are right, a lot of 80's songs were about the cold war. Another good example is Nina's "99 Luft Balloons," or at least the English version, "99 Red Balloons."

Tool - 4 Degrees, more hidden meaning (since no question was posed). Not exactly about the cold war, but same idea basically.

Lucy Sky of Diamonds is a Beatles song. It abreviates LSD which is a drug. its a hidden meaning song too.

they say that a lot of songs if you play them backwards etc. are talking about drugs
