Bad things happen to all people. "Good" people don't have a corner on the market.

Alot of good people enjoy being put down. They leave themselves wide open to be a martyr so that many will feel sorry for them and give some meaning to their lives. Bad things happen to everyone every day of the week.

Because Good people often secretly hate others and use thier image as a good person as battering ram to make others feel bad about themselves and those around them

Until good people sotreat others like they like to be treated and learn forgiveness bad things will continue to happen to good peope

Life is fatal.
"Bad things" happen to everyone.
Good things happen to everyone.
YOU get to decide whether something is good or bad for you..
For instance, someone dies. It may be "bad" for her family, since they will miss her. It may be good for her, since she is suffering. It may be good for the hospital business. Florists, etc.
Religions are founded on the idea that something can protect you from death and suffering.
It works, if you believe their fairy tales.
It is nonsense, if you are honest with yourself.
You get to pick.
I personally prefer to see the truth, and know the truth, and accept the reality that life is painful and wonderful. Sad and happy, long and short, easy and hard, and every thing in between.
It is fine with me. I am trying to adjust myself to the reality and not adjust my reality to what I WANT to be true.
Read Buddhism, nature, and science books. Read as many religious texts as you can get your hands on. Read Emerson, Thoreau, Jefferson, Einstein, Asimov, Hawkings.
Decide for yourself what the truth is.
Good luck.

Because Good People are not exempt, protected, or intervened for any more than anyone else. Life is what happens when you have something else planned.

I don't know. "Why does Murphy's law seem to follow me?"
