Whatever age is legal there will always be kids who get round it. I have actually seen parents bying cigarettes for 14 year olds. Its them who should be punished.

I agree with you! You have to be 21 to drink so why not smoking? It's because the Government knows that majority of smokers are young teens and if you raise the age limit then that would decrease sales and a decrease in sales is a decrease in tax. I think they should raise the age because it's sad when you see kids waiting for the bus smoking a cigarette and they think it looks cool. I'll be honest THOSE KIDS LOOK STUPID! I want to throw something at them and tell them that it's not cool and they are slowly killing themselves just to "fit in". I think they should raise the drinking age to 25 (because 21 is still too young) and raise the smoking age to 21. I also feel that 18 is too young to enlist into the military, they should raise the age to 21.

In California you have to be 18 to smoke and 21 to drink. But will it really matter? If the kids want to smoke, they are going to find friends who will share. I would like to see the smoking age raised to 21, but when kids are exposed to it, and they think it is cool, who is going to stop them?

No -- there should be no age requirement - let Big Brother take care of himself. Stop the nonsense. You want to dye young - go smoke. if the insurance companies don't want to pay health benefits or death benefits, then don't, but we sure as heck don't need some do gooder legislator tell people what to do.
