well, unfortunately, you can't control 13 year olds, so the point of who's to blame is really irrelevant. What's done is done.

Yeah, I'd say this is a fine time to consider an abortion. At this gestation, she should be able to use ru-486 and not have to go through the whole abortion procedure. You just have to research before she sees the doctor to ask for this pill because not all doctors are licensed to prescribe it.

13 is just too young. I've delivered the babies of 13 year old mothers before. unfortunately their bodies tend to do very well in labor. Of course they do. They're young and fit, and healthy. Even more unfortunately, they usually have 4 babies by the time they're 21 and old enough to have a tubaligation.

OK, I have given this question plenty of thought because it hits home for me.
I was pregnant at the age of 13 and delivered a handsome baby boy at 14.
My son was conceived by rape and I made the decision to not only keep the baby but to keep him a secret. I didn't tell my family until I was 5 1/2 months because of this reason. I was horrified I would be forced to get an abortion.
The rape was by a stranger in which they never found and I am very thankful because with the "laws" being what they are, that monster would have had parental rights.
I have No regrets about the choice I made. My son and I are very close and I was determined to do what was right. I received my GED before my class graduated and was in college working 2 small jobs. But at the age of 15. we, (me and my son) had a little house.
I disagree whole-heatedly that a child cannot raise a child at 13-15 etc. Although I don't encourage it. I don't believe it's such a black and white picture.
Because I wanted to do my best, I sought out youth groups, 'teens with children'. Something I would encourage in this case.
I believe it is her choice to keep the baby or not but because she is so young, (no one did for me) I would suggest teaching her all the fundamental things that will be so important to her now & later.
I believe an abortion should only be concidered in two cases. 1. rape. 2. Medical reasons.
I have been on both sides with this. I chose to keep my son, I am now a 38 year old VER PROUD Granny to two beautiful babies! :)
I have also had an abortion because at 11 weeks, 5 years later my baby quit developoping. After nurmerous tests and much advice, I reached a point of one choice, (abortion)
Now, which one had the biggest affect on me?
The abortion. It is something I will never heal from. Even as I type this the tears run down my cheek. Theres all the what if's, how comes, was it a boy/girl and did I do the right thing...etc.
No one should ever have to feel that pain and it's pain that is there forever. I cannot imagine living with that if it were a desicion made because of selfish reasons!
My second child was still-born. Her name was Nikki. She weighed 4lbs9oz. As painful as it was to burry her, I know I did all I could do to have a healthy baby.
The abortion haunts me!
To sum it up, never underestimate a young lady that is pregnant. there is no age that cannot be a Mom. Everyone is different and some may need a lot of help, love, understanding, than others. If she would decide not to keep this baby for whatever reason, there are so many woman that cry themselves to sleep every night because they cannot concieve. Give the baby up for adoption.
Sorry I sound like a babbling idiot but the bottom line is that I have been through many senerios and I cannot imagine this little girl going through an abortion.
Good Luck,
T

Abortion should NEVER be considered, especially in this situation. She asked for your opinion so be as honest with her as you possibly can; she is your friend and deserves that much. As for our/my opinion since you asked, I defenitly (obviously) believe that there shouldnt be any abortion, yes she is 13 but I know many thirteen year olds who have had children and done just fine with the pregnancy (not that I condole it at such an early age) but it teaches them to live with the desicions that they make and it also is a blessing from the Lord because there are many couples who wish they could have children and cannot. At the same time if your friend feels that they are not ready to have children she can give the child up for adoption to a family that will take good care of her and support this child. As for your friend I have to say, what did she really expect from handling her daughter in this manner? Had she been a responsible mother and looked after her own daughter maybe she would have been able to instill the proper amount of knowledge to have avoided this predicament. Whatever the case you should still be a supportive ear and if you speak your mind be honest and truthful cause that is the best you can do.

Tell her that Mecca (almost the same as Mecka) means sperm in spanish! The girl needs to give the baby up for adoption. 13 is too young to have a baby, and as the mother's friend, you need to just be supportive to her. She needs your friendship more than ever right now. Any advice will help, but please tell her to encourage her daughter to think of adoption.

Oh dear. No 13-year old child is equiped to deal with a pregnancy and a baby. But yet, you can't force her to have an abortion.

Mom & Dad (although not together any more) are going to have to set their differences aside and sit down together and decide what is best for their daughter. She will also need HIV/AIDS and STD tests no matter whether she continues the pregnancy or not.

I think it's partially her mother's fault that she's pregnant. She kicked her out and made her move to a new state and start over and that probably caused her to act up even more. Now she's pregnant because of all of this and her mom wants her to have an abortion. I don't agree with abortion. I think there are other solutions then killing an innocent child. Have her give it up for adoption if her mom doesn't want her keeping it.

She should blame herself for sending her daughter to live with her irresponsible father. Looks like Tosha got her stupidity from dad. She's too young and immature and dad will change his mind when he has to support the child and raise it on his own once Tosha gets bored of it. These kinds of situations really piss me off.

The pregnancy should be terminated if a doctor says it is necessary to save her life. There are lots of couples out there who have been waiting a long time to adopt a newborn baby. There would be no shortage of financially secure moral couples who would love to adopt that child.

Eldude: Who said that the father is irresponsible. I was never stated how long ago she moved in with him. It may have been 2 weeks ago. And the girl was 'getting out of hand' before that, thus how is her dad to blame for her behavior? You are acting like her father has unprotected sex with her himself. Which would be irresponsible.

I think she should have an abortion. I am 13 so i would want to do that, even though i would never get pregnant if i was under 20, but any if she wants to have the baby you could put it up for adoption. But i think she should have Abortion.

That's a tough situation to be in. I guess if it were my child, I would lean towards having the baby. Abortion is murder in my opinion. I don't think that having the baby will be a bad thing for the child...she need to learn from this.
