I just had a baby girl (8/26/06) and I named her Samira Elizabeth.

I also like Emma, Zoe, Lorel. But they had no meaning to me, they just were pretty. My daughter gets her first name from an Uncle and a cousin, and her middle name has been a common factor in 4 generations in my family. All the woman had it as a middle name or first name. (I somehow got skipped?!).

You really have to go with what you feel is right on this, it has to click with you. But, I'd keep in mind what possible nicknames can stem from the name you pick, and what the initials might spell as kids can be cruel.

For example, I'm prepared for Sam, Sami, & Mira. Even though when I named her I thought it was un-nicknameable (until my aunts came to visit!)

Whichever you chose, good luck to you!

When my sister had her daughter, I suggested they name her Deniece

When she had her son, I suggested Denephew

Just kidding, Old names seem to be making a comeback. I have heard several recently, like Hannah, Grace, Ruby, and Emily is still one of the most popular choices.
