The US must ratify the Kyoto protocal, being the first step toward doing something about this global problem which we are cheifly to blame.
CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater. These are two of the main pollutants humans put into the atmosphere in excess, and they are two of the primary greenhouse gases.
Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950 after a fairly stable climate for 1000 years. In fact, the 10 hottest years in recorded history have all happened since 1990, with 2005 being the hottest, and 2006 is shaping up to maybe break that record.
(see links below)
How's that for proof of man's fault in this? There is ample proof, any real scientist will tell you that.
There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.
Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.
Just to be clear, glacial and interglacial cycles are mainly controlled by astronomical fluctuations, but we have a detailed record of the last 7 cycles, and what the climate and CO2 is doing now is way different and extreme. The rate of increase is much higher than in the past AND the value itself is much higher.

Nope. Everyone thinks its someone elses problem.
Self-perscribed social insignificance due to the new depth of understanding of the huge number of people in the world (thank you internet/mass media) on a massive basis.
There are 6 billion people in the world. If every single one knew how many people there were (how big of a number 6 billion really is), each individual would be MORE PRONE to thinking "oh it doesnt matter if MY car guzzles gas/power plant spews pollutants because theres so many other people I'm barely contributing." THINK ABOUT IT -> if the average person is in a similar environment (where they have the choice of fuel conservation and they know that a LOT of other people contribute) ALWAYS comes to the same conclusion (screw it, I don't make a difference) then THEIR COLLECTIVE EFFECT WILL MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. Individual people can easily come to the exact same conclusion in similar circumstances, "let someone else do the right thing its better for me to do the immoral thing" BUT WHO WILL DO IT IF YOU DIDNT?!?! Well if we're in a society that makes it "more convenient," or just better suites your needs, to be MORE POLLUTANT and WASTEFUL then..
we're all so screwed!

no, we're not giving nearly the importance to global warming as we need to. as george bush would put it, "we'll put it off until people start dying in masses".
and you're totally right that we might not even survive to see the next century. i'm glad someone else other than me is seeing this. actually, 99% of scientists believe that global warming is happening, and the scientists that don't believe are those who work for power plants and other such businesses that contribute to global warming.

Global Warming is a serious problem. Now many steps are taken to reduce it.No one is taking this sensitive topic lightly. But we have to stop pollution to solve this problem. You can't say that we are not giving it importance. Many researches have been done in polar areas and know strategies are been made for its cure.At personal level we can create awareness in our surroundings. The best way to fight this problem is afforestation. If all humans in the world decides to rope and protect 10 trees in their life many problems can be solved.

What makes u think that it is true????? I have measured gas for 30 yr. and CO2 has not increased any in that time ,if u don't believe me go measure it. CO2 is a very heavy so there is no problem measuring it. I worked with methane ,H2S etc. methane has increased how much WRONG if it had there would be a large layer of methane in the high atmosphere and it is not there. if it were when we launch the shuttle there would be large explosions as they tried to go through the layer. someones math is----------- Wrong------------just measure it.

the international climate outcomes absolutely everyone! I dont care how lots or how little you care with reference to the ambience or our futre; you will experience the outcomes of ways lots skill you eat. i think of that absolutely everyone seems to be to blame for his or her carbon footprint. I, in my view, experience that it is my criminal duty to do as lots to keep away from international warming and to create a fit, greater sustainable destiny for each man or woman. I even have, and could proceed to realize this with the help of living as eco-friendly as achievable, and urge absolutely everyone to do the comparable. i'm no longer non secular with the help of any potential, yet i understand that interior the bible, for all of you who like it lots, financial disaster 2, verse 15 says somethin like god placed the persons on the earth to shield it!
