I need a graphics card to run company of heroes and the 6200 would do, and is quite a bit cheaper than the 6600. But the 6200 is quite old tech, so is it really worth holding out for a 6600?

generally with nvidia cards the first number is the sereis (6 in this case). the rest is the gpu speed. its worth noting that there is a big difference here.
most importantly, you want to know how much memory is on the card. 128mb is ok, 256 is better.
also make sure your card is compatible with your motherboard (AGP x2 or 4 or 8, or PCI express).
ive got a "png (nvidia) 6600 AGPx8, with 128mb" which runs halflife 2 at medium settings well. it could probably handle high settings if i had a 256 meg card, or if i had more ram.

Well do you want good graphics or not, that is the question. That game will look absolutely horrible on a 6200, you will have to put it on the lowest possible settings and it still will probably not run all that well. A 6600 will be better, but still nothing to be to thrilled about, you might be able to run it on medium settings.

usually the higher the number the better it is I think it's the same chip it's just one is more enabled than the other the 6600 will have better performance than the 6200 though
