There is no magic trick here. You can:
- do it more often.
- be sure no other program is running, including those in the tray (area down by the clock). especially antivirus programs which don't play well with defrag. just be sure to be disconnected from the internet while you have it disabled.
- add RAM to your system. Defrag uses RAM for temporary workspace while it is defragging
- run it in "safe mode" at night
- get a faster disk
- get a faster CPU
- Informational only - if you were to do a complete backup, then a complete restore, your system would also be defragged. But that was alot easier to do in the pre-windows world.

You can't make it go any faster. The best way to defragment the disc to perform the operation right before going to bed and let the computer work on the project overnight.

if you havn't done it in a while it will be slow. Closing some of the background programs may ( say may because you may not have any bg programs taht you can close) help some, but not alot. Also let your pc do it's thing while running defrag. Don't use it. If you do use your system durring Defrag, it WILL slow it down. Another thing. The bigger your hard drive the longer it will take.

It relies upon on what you recommend by technique of cleansing. For flushing out viruses and secret agent ware you want classes like AVG and Spybot which in basic terms attempt this. on your HDDs, you want to run a diskcleanup and in the adventure that they are fragmented, you want to run the disk defragmenter for which there's no change. If its an issue to run it manually (it may take a quite lengthy time period with the abode windows defrag, esp once you haven't in any respect defragged) in basic terms acquire Diskeeper, set it on completely computerized mode and go about your artwork as typical.

you really can't. best is to not have any programs open during defrag. leave the computer alone. even disable the screen saver. depending on the size of your disk and how often you defrag , it will take time.

It goes faster if it doesn't have to defragment lots of files.

you can't do that. when you are through with your computer for the day or night start the defrag program and let it run while you are sleeping or whatever
