Acres is a measuring unit of surface area .( like area of a land)
Straight mile is a measuring unit of distance.

Acre is a measure of AREA, therefore, I think you mean, "How many acres in a SQUARE mile", in which case, the answer is 640.

If you mean square mile, there are 640 acres in a square mile.
If you mean square roots of an acre, and if you mean statute mile, then there are 5280/208 or about 25.3 of them.
The question as it stands has no answer since acres measure area and miles measure length.

Erm ... there are NO acres in a straight mile. As a mile measures distance and an acre measures area.
