I have not used the patch. I have a good friend who used it who had awful periods and very hard time with mood swings, due to the hormones the patch released. I'm not sure how old you are, but I have an IUD. They are much safer than they were when they first were on the market. They last for 10 years. I have had mine for 6 years now with no problems. I never have to think about protection. I am married though. There are risks if you have multiple partners. But if you are not thinking of a family for a while and have one partner then it is a great form of birth control!!!

Women have had problems coming off the patch. It's good you took a home preg test, but remember, if you still haven't started in a week to take another preg test.

I used Ortho Evra for about a year after being on Ortho TriCyclan. It did have an inclination to peel off around the perimeters, like you suggested. i have actual had them peel off thoroughly. They were effectual adverse to being pregnant for me. i do not keep in mind if I used a condom or not, yet i'm quite particular i did not. i don't think of you want to pressure a lot about the position precisely the patch is meant to be positioned. it could be off a touch and nonetheless be effectual. I were given off of it through undesirable part outcomes, yet be cautioned that Ortho Evra has been suitable to ladies human beings lack of life of blood clots. about the starting up of a the patch, docs in a lot of situations allow you to comprehend to commence a particular day after your era ends (in a lot of situations Sunday). i'd confirm it with the clinical specialist first. you should be okay to have sex on the day you adjust your patch, because that is already on your equipment. yet about how lengthy it takes on your body to regulate to contraception and forestall being pregnant, i'm not completely particular. it really is yet another question on your clinical specialist. i'm hoping I helped a touch!
