Reggae music really lifts me off the ground(not literally!). The likes of songs relating to the Vietnam War and other songs that really calms your nerves. When I say that reggae music soothes and heals the heart, it really does. So of course when it comes down to picking out the best and my most favourite era for reggae music, the obvious would be the 70s!!!

By the way, Bob Marley is over-rated!

I also enjoy listening to reggae, and i do agree with you.I'm more into the "love" reggae.I think all the best music was recorded during that period.
Who are your favourite artists/bands?
I love listening to Dennis Brown,Gregory Isaacs,Bob Marley, plus i have quite a few reggae compilations with various artists/groups on them.

i used to dj in the days but the 80s were the best.

favourites .dennis brown , garnet silk.luciano.beres hamond
i could go on. my music starts from 1970s up til 2006.
some of the ragga now i like them more for the rhythm tracks not the singing
thats why i buy just the instrumental.
in the days 80s sound clashes were like tune for tune but now it seems like its lost its edge.
my favourite sounds were and are Saxon .sir coxon. stonelove.

I would have 2 say the 80's. but nothing beats marley and the wailers. I do admit some of the new stuff isn't all good.
