The world series, i dont know why though. This World Series has the lowest ratings of any championship baseball series ever. Hence why most people are annoyed that the shows were reruns, we didnt have any intentions of watching the game and tried to find something else. Complete let down

They will do reruns due to a major sporting event---World Series, NBA/Hockey playoffs, Super Bowl.
They will also do reruns if is is a time of year that has previously proven to be a "slow Tv" time---hoildays, elections, vacations, etc.
Many stations will also do a few weeks of new shows, then rerun them before getting farther into the season. Not everyone will pay so close attention to when the season premieres are and they might miss them. Plus, they want to have their best stuff on the TV during the "Sweeps"-- a period of time where the "grade" shows for the different awards that are given out.
There are only so many episodes ordered of a show, so they have to stick re-runs in there somewhere, so they choose these times to run them.

A lot of shows take a "mid season break" and they is when they will put in re-runs or recap shows.
Also, if the networks thinks people are watching the world series, they won't waste their top programming!
It all has to do with having the best shows on during sweeps week!

Ya know I thought it was just me who noticed...
I was wondering the same thing. First I thought that there may have been a speech or somethign from teh gov't or the pres. so they just aired repeats in case but then I was llike No, it had to be something else.
I was pretty P.Oed when the Survivor was a recap adn then CSI was a repeat.

So true I was looking forward to The Office and E.R. and when I got home and check my dv-r they were both reruns. What a bummer. I was happy to see that at least Ugly Betty was a new episode.

Seriously, I have no clue.. Other then they didn't produce enough shows with all the bickering going on the shows.. Or they are tiring to get more viewers.
