If you actually read your constitution, then you will find that it never said women didn't have the right to vote. It just didn't expressly give them the right to vote. It gave all 'men' the right to vote, and so federally there were no laws that said women had the right to vote.
And if you remember from your history class, anything not expressly written in the constitution as a federal issue became an issue in the realm of state power. And a lot of states allowed women to vote before it was made an amendment.
Your argument is pretty much saying that just because race wasn't mentioned in the constitution to begin with, then there was something written in the constitution that said you have to have slaves.

kitty-you're embarrassing yourself...it is NOT written in the constitution that anyone has a right to an abortion...Roe v. Wade determined it. AND the constitution never "said" that women do not have the right to vote, it was state and federal legislation that prohibited it. Thus, an amendment was needed to make it unconstitutional to deny women the right to vote. And your link is useless...and pitiful. Everyone who sat through 7th grade civics/social science knows about the history of women's suffrage. It doesn't "prove" that the constitution ever "said" women should not have the right to vote. Perhaps a better link for you would be one where it shows the part of the constitution where women are denied the right to vote, and given the right to an abortion. When you find that one, let us know, 'kay?

I'm not sure what you are saying... It's not written in the constitution than people have the right to an abortion (the word privacy is not in the constitution either). While the constitution previously did not have the right for women to vote, it was amended to add this right. This is not the case for abortion, which is still not mentioned in the constitution.

'If it is written in the Constitution that people have the right to have an abortion,'
Where is that written in the Constitution?
'should Women not have the right to vote because it also use to say that as well?
That IS in the Constitution. They do have the right to vote.

The Constitution says that women can't vote? Abortion isn't in the Constitution.

The right to an abortion is not in the Constitution----at least the US Constitution, unless I fell asleep for a very long time and I do not know what century I am in.

Unfortunately the right to an abortion is not in the constitution and neither is the word democracy. The US is a Constitutional Republic based off of, believe it or not Laws. Laws and rights that are given from, prepare yourself, GOD. And where do you think someone who died for your sins would stnad on this matter.

I hope I understand this question. The woman's right to vote is an amendment to the Constitution, abortion is not thus it is not a right. But then if you had finished 10th grade you would already know this.

It never said that women didn't have the right to vote. Care to post a link?
And if you read and understood the question I wrote, since you are obviously still obsessed with me today, you would see that my question clearly says ABORTION WAS NOT WRITTEN INTO THE CONSTITUTION. And then I said why that might have been the case.
Your link does not support your question. where in the constitution did it say that women don't have the right to vote?

Um, later amendments overrule the original text of the Constitution. I don't believe either of those things were expressly written in the Constitution, though.
