I am a fan of Nintendo but sometimes like the look of games for playstation and xbox but what always got me thinking is why didnt all the game companys (Nintendo, Xbox, Playstation) join forces as it means we would have the best games, graphics and the biggest range of titles and the companys might even make more money...

Actually I agree with steve it would be horrible lol!
But i see it would mean that they wouldnt push things forward as much...

I don't think so, competition is a good thing. It encourages innovation and invention (like the cool stuff the Wii is introducing).

If the three of them didn't compete, what reason would there be for each to "push the envelope" with the consumer's gaming experience.

This competition continues to grow the gaming world and in the end we (the consumers) win.

Besides, would you want Nintendo to adopt the horrible manufacturing techniques of Sony. That would be terrible :)

you raise a good point but as consumers we thrive on the ability to choose and if there was just one option out there it would discourage individualism in shoppers thus creating a dislike for the product
