Can someone show me the math....
The lottery was started in 1982 to fund the school system too where is that money going?

gay marriage issue is more a way of creating numerous households, making it legal would combine households? just a thought?
however....I am wondering about $50 a parcel throughout the State of California has got to bring in far more than $450 million dollars

we could split hairs over the meaning of the words funding, supplement, blah blah blah

the lottery money was to be use for education!!!!

anyway 'NO' is the only way to deal with this stupidity

The lottery was not meant to fully fund schools, it was to supplement school funding (as in around 5%). It is doing this.

A parcel tax is on each property. For instance, if you tax 10 parcel at $50 per year, then you have an additional $500 to spend. I am voting no on this because it puts more of the burden on property owners.

Note: Mr. Copper, the lottery was NEVER meant to fund all of education needs. 90% of all education funds are paid on the state and local level by property, income, and sales taxes (along with special assessments). The lottery would have to pull in $100 billion a year to even come close to what it takes to actually fund education. As it is now, I doubt the lottery funds even $10 million combined. You need to run the numbers and read the actual proposition which enabled the lottery in California

No one said that the lottery money goes into the general fund. It goes into the education fund which supplements educational funding (note supplement, not pays for)
