Could be so many things omg...
1. Makes them feel better about themselves
2. Could make them feel powerful or above someone else
3. Maybe following someone else's example
4. Might be doing to 'impress' others...
5. May be trying to 'fit' in to a certain crowd or group
6. Could be lacking commen sense
7. Having no conscience
8. Bad influences at home
9. Could have been treated the same way before
10. Seen it on television and wants to be 'cool'
11. Ignorance
12. Bad parenting
13. Following suit of bad siblings
14. Might make them feel like they 'belong' 'popular' or simply accepted... if supported by others in a group
In my experience, i've always found that the tormentors or 'bullies' were almost ALWAYS nice if their friends or peers were not around...almost always.

Some people are just *******! I experienced it in school from 7th grade all the way to high school and it only got worse as time went by until I refused to attend school at all and dropped out in 11th grade. They must be so insecure themselves that when in groups they feel that they are part of "the club". I don't really know why. Sucks though...

No your not "retarded" if anything you are better than most guys! I am 16 and never had a boyfriend. I live in London, I am average looking and I have the personality that you described (literally!) and I think this is why I've never had a boyfriend. There needs to be more guys like you :) Hope this helps

Girl, i am with you. I have been bullied for as long as i know, i am bullied at my school sometimes, but the people got used to me, they used to make fun of my hairline. It was horrible, i felt upset, worthless, everything bad.. I know how you feel, i felt the ugliest girl ever in my life, but my cousin told me that i was beautiful, and that made me regain my confidence. I have never bullied someone, maybe i have hurted someone, but i didnt mean to do it. I know how people feel when they have hurt, i dont understand why others have to do this, i felt so upset when i was bullied and tormented. Everyone was acting as if they didnt like me etc. But when they started to know me, they had more respect for me, and they figured i was a very nice person. I cant believe why people have to do this, it isnt necessary, thanks for posting this question, it will make others think. I didnt felt suicidal, because i looked forward to seeing myself in the future, seeing me having succeeded what i wanted to, and seeing me forgive the people who did this to me. I have told teachers about this, they say dont hide things from them, but they dont seem to help us out all the time. But my head of year was a wonderful teacher she helped me out, got the people who teased me, and now my life is quite bully free. I just dont understand it if our parents will confront the teasers parents that the teasers parents have to snap or get all mean with our parents.. I dont understand why some parents have to be so over protective and dont do anything about their children. Good luck.

There's too many reasons to count and they're all stupid. Tough times, seem powerful, they're mean, they need to get their own life, Satan is using them to try to lower self esteem, the list goes on and on and on........... but whatever the reason is, always, always, ALWAYS, tell an adult!

You are right, it is a sad truth.
I try to teach my son, to encourage those who are left out and include these kids (that are usually really special, at least thats how I see them) in his group of friends.
He has, and am so proud of him for that. every parent should teach their kids to reach out to those who are being left behind somehow. And tell them how they will be making a difference in this childs life, that he/she will never forget.

Sadistic *******! Their lives are so empty that it gives them a sense of superiority to belittle and berate others. It validates their own miserable existence.

Because maybe their life is not going so great and it makes them feel better about themselves to make another persons life hell.
