I CAN NOT STAND IT! These robots are being made, which will inevitably take over jobs, create more laziness, and will eventually be the cause of the extinction of life as we know it. I feel like I am constantly reading about the Japanese coming up with these technological machine robots that do just about anything....making everyone else lazy. I understand the use of robots to disarm bombs and save lives, but I think it is going to be taken WAY to far if people continue to support it. What do you think? If you think i am being ignorant, let me know....I would like to be put in my place and stop being so angry about this....so please voice your opinions in a civil manner

I am ranting because it makes me mad. Just yesterday I saw a news report about a robot that had been made and some little kids were playing with it....like a friend....Is human contact way to much for people to handle now? What do you think that could do for a childs social skills? ROBOTS ARE NOT PEOPLE, there is NO genuine emotion (except for the fictional characters in I. Robots). There is just no need for it unless it saves someones life or can prevent death.

That's an interesting point of view. I don't really have a problem with robots. While they can do the heavy lifting and the crappy work that would put humans in danger, they don't really seem to be a problem. The problem isn't that robots take human jobs. The problem is that humans are doing jobs that mostly mindless robots should be doing. Those jobs are taking the time away from the use of what could be perfectly intelligent people who could be coming up with exciting new ideas to make our lives better be it a medical miracle or an artistic wonder. The problem is that school systems are still geared for the industrial age, which preferred to use people as machines, and not the information age, where intelligence is the new commodity. For the last 10 years the National Science Foundation has been reporting that the US is dramatically short on Engineers and Scientists. The report has gotten worse today. Engineers and Scientists are the professions that actually MAKE MORE JOBS by coming up with new ideas that make our lives better. Don't be mad at the robots, be mad at the people who think that people should still be doing the jobs the robots can do.

I think the robots are pretty neat, and kinda cute. UNTIL they take over jobs. Then they come kinda creepy. I see the future, of robots in the home. Will they take over? Hope not! Sounds like a horror flick or a cheesey sci fi movie.

Yes it is a good idea to send robots into places that are too dangerous for humans like to dis arm a bomb, or send them into a volcano for readings and such, or send them into space, but don't let them take our jobs, or come into our home to do our jobs.

Robots are ok as cute little toys, and as helpers in dangerous jobs, but that's the way it should stay.

But have you realized that "robots" are everywhere? You may not realize it. But componets for robots are everywhere, and aspects of robots are everywhere as well.
