I think that really depends on the child, depends on the parents morals, and on how much money the parents actually have. For sure until they turn 18. However if the child decides to drop out of school, I think that's different. I think it's ok if my child is focusing on University, for me to continue to financially support them. But if a young adult is not in school, then they should be working and supporting themself. I think it's understandable for parents to be there to bail there kids out once in awhile when times get tough. I got in a car accident a few years ago, and had no way of paying the $1800 in repairs. I was very grateful that my dad could help me. As long as their children are grateful and are doing their best to support themselves, I see nothing wrong with parents helping out financially throughout adulthood.

well that depends are you and the mother of these children divorce or were you ever married , if divorces or seperated then the law says 18 unless they get married before than , now in some divorce settlement the father can be made to pay for half the college schooling until the child reaches 21 it really depends on the state you live in, now if your still with the mother than i quess i could be 17 maybe 16 ..my daughter moved out when she was 17 and the law told us there was nothing we could do about it

Alot of people think 18, but I think about when I was 18, and I wouldn't have been able to take care of myself. I say 21 is a good age. At 18, you are still kind of young. By 21, you should be mature enough.

18. MAYBE 22 if they go to college and the parents are financially able to support them. At 18 they can join the military and EARN their own money for college. My parents would have paid my college expenses, but I joined the Army and learned MORE there about myself than I ever would have by staying in school - odd I know.

i would think that once they are out if high shcool. i guess it depends. like in my family, i am the middle kid (2 older sis, 2 younger bro) & i am the only one who is going to college, my parents wont help w. my college but call me a failure when i say i need to take time off to save money (for college) but my brother (high school drop out) lives at home & has no job. i moved out because not only was i payin my ouwn tuition they were asking for rent from me to live there. i dont think that if the child is furthering there education that they should be expected to pay rent, now ppl like my brother who are failing at life on purpose i think they should. thats just me. Hope this helped! Good Luck!

When they move out. But don't let them live with you till their like 25 or something then that's just living off someone else. But ya when they decide they're mature and responsible enough to move out and make decisions for themselves then they can pay for things themselves!
