Seems very innocent doesn't it? My situation started somewhat like that. Seemed purely harmless at first. "We are just talking" I would tell myself. Well 3 years later I now could KICK myself for letting this happen. I wish it was a nightmare. I remember my pastor's sermon several years ago about how he would never allow himself to be alone with a woman. I thought he was nuts and not very sure of himself and his marriage. Now I know why he gave that sermon. I should have listened. There is absolutely nothing to gain from this. Have coffee and bring your spouse. Plain and simple.

That depends on how you see the "going out for coffee". If you don't want to tell your spouse and you want to keep that part of your life secret from others, then it would be cheating. Its not necessarily about what you do, its about how you feel. If you are doing this with your ex or some guy you think is hot, its probably pushing the envelope. If your spouse knows and you didn't have a problem telling him and there are no feelings involved, other than plutonic friendship, then you are fine.

maybe not cheating but that is putting yourself in a situation to start cheating and i really don't see the point in puttnig yourself in a situation that you will be forced to say no!
i mean what's the point for a cup of coffee! go to krogers and make your own!
my veiws! tho... thats how most "oops" cheating starts! so why put yourself in that situation.. it can put dought in some minds and if you love someone that much why intentionaly put doubt in there minds!
so over all
Yes that would be cheating in my eyes! even thought that person didn't cheat they are setting them selfs up for it!
Mad luv

It would depend on how you are going about it and what your significant other may feel. If the person you are in a relationship with has a problem with it, but you do it any way, it's not really cheating, but you're not respecting the feelings of your significant other. If they don't have a problem with it, then, there's no problem, you are not cheating.

Depends on what happens during the time they are "going out for coffee".

I go out for coffee with both my male and female friends. It's just a time to have a conversation, not a date. If I have a girlfriend at the time, I invite her along.

"Going out for coffee" sounds like a date.
If the person hides the coffee date or doesn't tell the partner, I'd call it dishonest, which to me is cheating.

Sure some people may look at it as cheating but as long as that person is not your hubby go for it.. If the meeting progress to touching inappropriately or kissing then its time to stop it.

Do you tell your husband where you are going? Without him asking?

Or do you plan that little part of the day without his knowledge, set it aside, get excited, put on some perfume for Mr. Excitement, re-do the hair real quick, lipstick check, smooth the skirt, warm smile while your heart races?

Then you're cheating. Simple.

you are entitled to have friends as well as a social life with anybody you want to with, and having coffee once and a while and talking is not cheating.
