No, they don't celebrate any holidays, including their own birthdays, because they believe that celebrating anythng other than Jehovah is right. They're also not allowed to compete in any team sports, try out for parts in plays, or get nominated for homecoming queen or anything like that. Also, as I'm sure you know, they're not supposed to stand for or say the Pledge of Allegiance, sing the Star-Spangled Banner, or be a cheerleader. Somehow, the Jackson Five and Selena both got around the whole JW thing to be on stage and be singers, but I guess it's like every religion where some families are more religious than others who bend some of the rules.

The question to ask is did Christ say to observe it?
As for the young lady just above said, witnesses do stand for the Pledge, they just don't say the pledge. They do act in plays, be performers, including singer, provided it stays within the Christian mandates. Check on an old 70s show call "Get Christy Love." The Jacksons got disfellowshipped. Selena's music didn't involve suggestions of sexual behavior.
I managed a Christmas play, at the request of my 6th grade teacher, who went to my mother and the elders to ask permission. My name did not appear on the credits.
It is hard for witnesses movie actors, as they only work parts keeping with God's Word, but they don't seem to stay unemployed. The actor that did Christy Love became a witness after doing the pilot movie for the series. In the series, she never shot anyone, yet the show had good ratings. She was the first black woman to hold such a position in a TV show.
