Try not to worry too much because that is harmful to your unborn baby. It is said that if you wish things to happen to your body with your mind they can happen. That doesn't make you a bad person, it is okay to be afraid. Low risk is about 3 months because the placenta is more firmly attached to your uterine wall. I would just relax if I were you because stress can help cause a miscarriage!

After you get to the 12 week stage, your chances of a miscarriage is dramatically reduced. I'm 13 weeks now, and can finally breathe a small sigh of relief. There are always chances of miscarriage. But you have to keep in mind that the odds are definitely in your favor after 12 weeks. I found out at 5 weeks. I prayed everyday that it went well, and I continue to pray every day. I talked to my doctor, because I was also VERY worried. He said that every woman that comes to him is concerned to one degree or another. He said that if it becomes unbearably stressful, then he recommended I come back to see him. Try not to read too much into miscarriage facts. Its too easy to find yourself completely obsessed with the fact. Just enjoy your pregnancy, think positive, and take care of yourself. Remember that your odds of a successful pregnancy is great, and that focusing on the negative will steer you away from something that is really wonderful......Best of luck in your pregnancy and stay well.

Second trimester miscarriages are rare, but they do happen. I lost two babies born at 16 and 18 weeks. But- my circumstances aside, after 12 weeks the chances of this happening go WAY way down. Usually if you are going to miscarry it is due to a genetic problem or a problem with the baby's development. When you miscarry depends on what the cause is. I agree with Kim- there was nothing wrong with the first answer. Some people are idiots.

There are different points in a pregnancy when the miscarriage rate drops. Once you see the heartbeat (around 7-8 weeks), it goes down. It will go down again once the heartbeat can be heard through a doppler (12-16 weeks). I have read once you get out of your first trimest (13 weeks) the rate drops to something like 2%. Just relax and let nature take its course...unfortunately, nothing can be changed if its going to happy. Have a happy 9 months!

Don't feel bad I am almost 10 weeks and still worry quit often. I had my first OB visit at a little over 6 weeks and I saw the little flicker of a heartbeat and that helped the anxiety alot.
As far as I have read 80% of miscarriages occur before 12 weeks and of those 80%, 75% are actually before 8 weeks. Congrats and relax if you can :)

Most miscarriages happen between 1-14 weeks. But you are never really out of a danger zone. People have lost their babies at 5 or 6 months. Even 8 months! So there isn't a safe zone. Just keep regular doctor visits and try to be as healthy as you can during your pregnancy.

After 12 weeks, your chances of miscarriage drop considerably. I always worried about things going wrong when I was pregnant. I think it's pretty normal to worry a lot, and if you ever have any questions or concerns you should have a doctor that makes you feel comfortable with bringing them up. It's a normal part of pregnancy.

The risk is much lower after the first trimester. But there is never a safe time where there is no risk. Some people miscarry as late as the 9th month. I used to worry about it too but everything turned out fine. Good luck.

Once you pass the 24th week, the baby could be born and still live. Usually the risk of miscarriage greatly reduces after you pass the first trimester.

no...all normal anxieties about pregnancies. I know it's something you don't want to hear, but you can miscarry at any point. Generally, once you pass the first trimester the likelihood is lowered. I've had friends who miscarried in the 2nd trimester. Don't worry so much and concentrate on taking care of yourself, resting and eating properly .
