Music is like anything else - 90% of it is junk and the other 10% is usually not what you hear on TV and radio. You just have to hunt for the good stuff and ignore the dreck. BTW there are a lot of songs in both grunge and metal (esp. metal) about "gettin laiad".

A message to margie & the writer of this question: you shouldnt make general statements about rap when it's obvious that you don't listen to it. There are artists that are positive, respect women & actually take the time to write something meaningful. They will not get played because people buy garbage music. Also, it's really fun to billionare record executives to make 2000 blackface music by putting out the most ignorant rap they can find. They know most people dont apperciate music, they just like the beat. Art, like metal & grunge, is not good for them. Blackface music is, because it sells.

I blame the ACLU. American Civil Liberties Union. They defend the rights of murderers, pedophiles, neo-Nazi groups, etc. If the government tries to step in and regulate anything, the ACLU jumps on top of them, so they have managed to scare anyone wanting to remove these lyrics, these points, these unreasonable views. Please go to wikipedia and look up the ACLU. I'm not using your question as a soap box, but if we were to bring a lawsuit against any rap artist or any artist singing about sex, the ACLU would counter-sue saying we were violating the rights of the artists. That is what is wrong with America today. To tell you the truth, I find it refreshing that a 13 year old would come on here and speak their mind. Maybe the country has a chance.

Listen to different kinds of music - country, rock, etc. Freedom of speech does apply to rap music, but if you don't like it don't listen to it. There is no law that states because you are a teenager you have to listen to that mindless drivel.
And note to one of the other answers - rap does not require talent. Just an ability to talk. Most humans have this ability.

I see you're Canadian, so which you do no longer extremely have the liberty of speech that an American has. to reply to your question, flow forward and exhibit your suggestions out loud. you're unfastened to achieve this, in all fairness (nonetheless can't yell "hearth!" in a crowded theater). for sure, human beings's ears are unfastened to pay attention or no longer pay attention. i became as quickly as on a date, presently after 9/eleven assaults. somewhat previous woman became exterior the theater exits handing out anti-war propoganda, workout consultation her unfastened speech. As she handed it to me, I on the instant glanced at it, and on the instant crumbled it right into a ball and threw it interior the trash, perfect in front of the previous woman pacifist. i became workout consultation my perfect to no longer pay attention. I have been given in issue with my date, she theory that I certainly have rudely exercised my perfect. It ended in a heated argument, and no person gave floor. To this present day, i does no longer have replaced a component approximately that chain of activities. it extremely is area of what makes the U. S. a staggering u . s ..

Well, can you prove your music is better? Not just state it, but honestly prove it?
