Best team seems easy, it's the Bears. They have an amazing D and other then the Arizona game they have a very good O. The second part to your question is very difficult because so many different players can do so many different things. You have to look at how the team would look without the player and how the opposing D or O has to gameplan for that player. I can't narrow it down to one guy but I feel that it comes down to L.T., Manning, Urlacher, or Steve Smith.

Best NFL team=New Orleans Saints. They are the best team out there, because no one expected them to be 5-1 this early in the season. There is no one star performer on that team. Heck, they will most likely not even have any guys in the pro bowl.
Best Player=Peyton Mannning. If he gets hurt, their season is over and that is why he is the best and most valuable.
Bonus answer: Best player ever=Barry Sanders, if you have to ask, you never saw him play. :)

TEAM: Chicago Bears (though the Colts and Broncos aren't far behind - heh, two horse teams)
PLAYER: Donovan McNabb because no matter what happens in a game, he'll have put done his part eating up yards (usually it's the defenses' fault in Philadelphia loses since McNabb rarely ever turns it over)

team is up for grabs. probably Bears, maybe giants or panthers.
hard to tell for AFC. Steelers, Colts, and pats look like $hit this year.
Best player hands down. Donovan McNabb. Nobody in the league directly affects their entire team more than him. Most teams have rushing and passing or defense or something. He is the only real one man team. Whether or not the Eagles win is 95% due to his actions

best team would be the steelers because they are the defending champs. the best player would be Tom Brady on offence, because he lead New England to 3 super bowl wins, and at a young age. On defence I would choose Troy Polumalou of the pittsburgh stellers becuase he is everywhere on the field.

Da Bears. They aren't a lot better than others such as the Colts, but still the best. Now if the Bears had their defense and had an A++ offense to go along with it they'd be unstoppable. GO BEARS!!

Best Player - Peyton Manning - no one smarter about the game; no one else adapts or learns from mistakes (which are rare) like him.
Best Team - right now - Chicago - they are the total package.

Chargers, and there are too many measures of "best". I will says it means being multi-talented in a sport where there are such specific positions. Therefore, it must be a running back because they catch, run, throw, and block, and the best RB (and best all-around back) is LaDainian Tomlinson
