That is a good idea. Sending Dhoni to open.
But if you look at past, India had faced less problems scoring runs in first 15 overs, than in last 10 overs. Any agressive batsman can score runs in first fifteen overs, in fielding restriction. But scoring in slog overs is much more chanllenging, as the field can be changed more freely. May be thats what the indian think tank is thinking. Dhoni is used to score runs in the end. And we see this in the recent west indies match.

In one day match the best thing is to ensure that not many wickets are lost atleast till 40 overs and the team succeed in this game plan, they can hit out and accelerate the runs rate in the remaining 10 overs. Dhoni is the best striker of the ball in the present Indian Team and is capable of scoring fast runs at the slog overs. That is the reason why he is not sent at 1st down or 2nd down. If team does not loose many wickets upto 30 overs or so, Dhoni can be sent up in the order depending upon the number of wickets lost and the score of the team at that point of time.

than Dravid will be wasted or even Pathan will be wasted but as a matter of Fact Dhoni deserve a chance to bat upper in the order as the hype is too high for dhoni which needs to be burst and Murli Kartik is way ahead as a keeper than dhoni.

The Indian team will be better at playing ko-ko than cricket. Useless team. All hype no substance.
