I have a 2 month and 1 week baby at home and usually she eats her bottle every 3 hours and eats 4 ounces at a time. The past couple of days she has only been eating 2 ounces every 4 hours. Is it normal for babys to eat less some days than others?

yes. i have a 4 month old. it was explained to me that sometimes babies need more calories, or less, as long as his/her weight gain is normal and she is acting herself dont worry. mine sometimes gets hungry every hour, then sleeps for four hours at a time. if u are stll concerned check with the dr.

My baby is doing the exact same thing and has been doing it for about two weeks now she is seven weeks. I was wondering if it was normal as well. But she will drink 2-4 oz every 4-5 hours now. So I am also a little concerned, the best thing to do is ask your doctor, people on this forum may not know.

hopefully she's just drinking the milk, and not EATING bottles. LOL just kidding. But you're instincts are right. Children's eating habits will vary from day to day. In an infant, monitor their eating over a 3 day period. You may see it even out when written down. Always have an extra ounce in the bottle, just in case she wants more. If not, an ounce is no biggie to dump in the drain. At this stage, babies don't overeat, they take what they need. (always make sure not to force)

Yes, it is normal for their eatting habits to change. They are just like us. Have you ever had a day when you felt like eatting less and then the next day you can't fill yourself up? They are no different. However, if you are worried, you should call your babies doctor for reassurance. Good luck!

You could try changing the bottles , my two boys had the same problem with the AVENT bottle system at first. My newborn son hates them and loves the first years soothie bottles it gives him much less gas. Check the nipples and see if they are the right stage so she doesn't have to suck as hard to get the milk. You can give her a bit of mylicon it helps with the gas and even gripe water for colic. And if she still is fussy I highly recommend you take her to the pediatrician because shes a baby and she shouldn't be losing weight but gaining. Hope your baby feels much better soon.

Maybe she has a little gas and thats why she is not eating as much. How often is she pooping and peeing? As long as she is having at least 6-8 wet or dirty diapers a day you should be fine. I would call your pediatrician and ask if you need to switch formulas.

Nothing to worry about. Their eating habits fluctuate and some days will be different than others.
