Well Im planning on getting a Nintendo Wii on luanch day as it has hundreds of games playable from day 1 with all my gamecube games playable and the virtual console and over 20 wii titles. It might not have the greatest graphics but its ok cause id rather have a great game than a rubbish one with great graphics. Wii will have more games made than ps3 as the ps3 games most of them or all use HD which means you have to be rich to have one of them and the games take longer and cost more to make. Also to view the PS3 graphics at there best you need a 60" HD Ready TV which costs LOADS and you have to wait six months and the cost of the machine is loads. And Wii offers free online play and connectivity to my Nintendo DS. And has a cool controller lol.
So tell me why I shouldnt get a Wii!

Now if any of you think that the wii is little kiddie games is Red Steel a kiddie game and just cause it dosent cost a packet and have amazing (expensive for game makers) HD graphics. It offers games for all ages and will be the best as its got free online game unlike xbox and has some amazing cool Unkiddie games!

Also about Blu-Ray Discs they cost £16.99+ if you buy them and it means as its got HD graphics that it will take longer for the games to come out as it takes loads longer for a HD Game to be made!

I do agree that some of the titles are some what babyish but still there are some great titles that you carnt get on other systems like zelda but as the Wii's objective is to get more older people playing so i think that they will be pushing out some games aimed at the older people of todays game market.

The Wii isn't in the same class as the 360 or PS3, but it isn't trying to be. The other systems are going for huge, grand, immersive games, but the Wii wants to be something you can pick up casually, play for ten minutes, then walk away feeling happy about. The Wii is the system that the average person will like best, and hardcore gamers will respect the least.
-------------------------------
How can you people even SAY that?!?!??!? Obviously you've never picked up a Zelda game in your LIFE!!!! You can't just go over and pick up a Zelda game for 10 minutes and walk away feeling happy! You'd barely have time to get READY to play it. Twilight Princess is going to have 70+ HOURS of gameplay, and that's NOT including replay value. Now tell me that's not GRAND AND IMMERSIVE!!! You can't can you?!??! Yes, The Wii will have fun games, but it WILL have hardcore games for it. Zelda is just one of them. Did you know that there is going to be an EXCLUSIVE Resident Evil game for the Wii? Did you know that there's going to be Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles sequel for the Wii? Did you know that Redsteel is definantly NOT a kiddie game? Did you know the Metroid Prime was one of the BEST games that came out, and Metroid Prime 2 was just as great, and now there is going to be a Metroid Prime 3? Did you know that Metroid Prime 1, 2, and 3 are ALL FPS games? Did you know that those games are EXTREMELY IMMERSIVE, and they are EXTREMELY HARDCORE!??!? Betcha didn't. I may sound like I'm rambling, but I'm sick and TIRED of all the RETARDS out there that say Nintendo doesn't make hardcore and immersive games.
Yes, there are kiddie looking games, but at LEAST Nintendo is reaching out to little kids and older adults. Did you know that "kiddie games" are SO POPULAR that Microsoft is actually MAKING ONE?!!?? No, they're actually making TWO!!!!! Those game are Banjo-Kazooie 3 (OMG a Bear with a Bird in a blue backpack on his back thattries to collect golden "Jiggys") and Viva Pinata (OMG! It's an Animal Crossing Rip off!!) The fact is, FUN SELLS!!!!
And to answer your question, there is NO REASON why NOT to buy a Wii.

If you want to play Final Fantasy for sixteen hours straight, wait for the PS3. If you want something your friends can play at a party, get a Wii.
I totally am.
But be warned: I was all excited about the Virtual Boy too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_boy
edit: I KNOW there will be some awesome spellbinding games for the Wii, like Zelda, but I'm talking more in a general sense about what Nintendo wants the system to be. It's an attitude similar to the DS. Consider the DS commercials-- Nintendo wants to have products you can turn on, have fun with immediately, and then get back to real life. It seems like the company as a whole is trying to get away from the "videogames steal your soul" and "videogames are only for people with empty lives" reputation.

The Wii looks cool, if you want it you should definitely pick it up. The only problem Nintendo has is quality software for anyone over 8 years old.
Yes I know this is a bit of an exaggeration, but Nintendo just does not produce or acquire many good games for older players. Based on your Name Tyson 92, I am going to assume you are about 15 years old.
How much longer before you crave some quality mature rated games? Mario, Zelda, and Yoshi are going to get old sooner or later.
they have some mature games, but not nearly as many as the 360 or the PS3 will have
just a thought.

Well if playstation had of lost some more moeny the ps3 would never come out as they went in the red due to laptop batterys and also the startup for the ps3 (probably due to the HD stuff that costs loads) so id get a wii as at least you know that Nintendo wont go bankrupt like playstation nearly did!

Dont get it. Nintendo is bad. Mario this, Mario Cart that, bad copy of (insert multi-console game here)
And also, PS3 doesnt NEED HD. It has the OPTION to show games in HD.

Most of the time, Nintendo's fun and inventive little systems have great ideas but seriously lack good games. Most of their games are surrounded around their special features.
