yes people are still making 5.15 a hour and cant get out of section 8 housing

If you talk about the real-life slavery, it still exists. Filipina OFWs in Arab countries, especially Kuwait, are sometimes being mistreated. Their employees sometimes acutally hit them even for no reason at all.
But if you mean slavery in the uber modern context, it's not really money, it's greed. Greed can make one a slave to anything. Think about it. :-)

Slavery is still quite rife in africa and illigal slavery is quite rife in the west. It's not gone anywhere except underground. You don't have it that bad.

Materialistic people choose to be slaves to themselves. I dont think that's ever gonna change.
