There is far less stigma associated with mental illness today than there was in earlier decades. Almost everyone you speak to is in therapy and/or on some type of medication for depression, bipolar, anxiety, etc.

I feel sorry for the mentally ill. I don't think anyone should treat them any different, they are humans just like you and me, they just have a chemical indifference in their brain.
Picture yourself in their shoes and see how you would like to be mad fun of, b/c you have a condition you can't control.

Yes, and as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't say much for their character. I have no tolerance for that sort of behavior. I don't necessarily think they are terrified, just insensitive and rude.
