How do I delete a folder on my D:\? Whenever I try to delete it, it says that the file name, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. When I try to delete individual files, it says that it can't read from the source file or disk. Thanks!

Well you can delete the files by going to safe mode. If that does not work follow these steps
Press CTRL + ALT + DEL, the task manager will come up.
Click on the processes TAB, and then look for a program called "explorer.exe" in the list.
click on the process and then click the buton that says end process.
Your background will go black
After that click on the File option in the task manager window
Then click on New task (run)
In the box type the word "cmd" without the quotes
You will get another black screen there will be flashin cursor, just type in the following D: and press enter
Now you will see D:>
type the word DIR and press enter, you will see a list of files, in that look at the name of the file u want to delete
then type "del file name" without the quotes and put the name of the file in place of file name.
Voila it deleted. then restart ur pc, that file wont be there anymore

What kind of drive is D?

CD, Hard drive, Removable drive?

If its anything but a cd or tape drive, try right clicking the drive icon, going to properties, then to tools and run error-checking
