My family and I are going to New York for a couple of days in December. However, we cannot decide on which Broadway plays we should see. My borther is about 12 years old so, it has to be a play that he would enjoy too. Does anyone know of any good broadway plays playing in December?

Disney's Beauty and the Beast
Disney's Mary Poppins
Disney's The Lion King
Disney's Tarzan

* All Disney shows are especially good, the costumes, scenery, everything is amazing!

The Other Three that Very Good Are:

Wicked (prequill/sequel to the Wizard of Oz) - sold out a lot so call ahead of time to reserve!

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee - Some language, but if you're 12 year old brother is mature or what not this is hilarious!

The Drowsy Chaperone - Perfect for all family members (5 tony awards) this show will make you lagh so hard you'll cry!

Food For Thought:
The One's I Listed sometimes tend to sell out, sometimes not! But there is a TKTS ticket booth which gives you 25%-50% off on tickets. But keep in mind the shows that sell out will not be inthis ticket booth. The tickets there are shows that are needing more people and what not.

Also, there is www.broadway.com where you can look up the shows see what they are about, qho's in them. And you can reserve seats that night!

Keep in mind the show you want to see may not be available when you get there! Unless you reserve them online or, by phone!

Hope to help!

There are the classics... Les Miserables, Phantom, of course
and
For a younger person... The Lion King, Mary Poppins (it is a bit darker than the Disney movie, but with many of the same songs), Wicked,

You can also check out http://www.playbill.com Just look on the left side of the page under Listings. Click on Broadway and you'll get a listing of all current shows. By clicking on an individual show, you will get a brief synopsis, pricing info, age recommendations, etc.
It is a very informative site.

If beauty and the Beast are still playing, thats is a good one.

The Lion King as some killer costumes and is also very well

Spamalot was good if you liked the movie, but with a 12 year old I would probably go with one of the first two

I ALMOST FORGOT, I DONT KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GET TICKETS, BUT THE ARE RUNNING A HOW THE GRINCH STOLE X-MAS PLAY FROM NOW THROUGH JANUARY THAT WOUDL BE GOOD FOR THE SEASON

enjoy NY!

I would say Wicked or The Drowsy Chaperone.

Wicked is made as a family musical, it has everything you could imagine in there.

The Drowsy Chaperone is very good too! Its hilarious! But they are both just awesome shows!

Good luck with whatever show you decide to see!

The Spelling one, or I think Wicked would be good for a 12 year old, or A chours line just opened.

I reccommend. The 25th annual putnam county spelling bee, hairspray, rent, wicked, and the drowsey chaperone

"Hairspray," "Wicked," "Putnam Spelling Bee," "The Lion King"

really popular (and good!) shows are "Rent," "Avenue Q," "Grey Gardens" ... but they're probably not the best bets for a 12 year old.
